Eclipses

A video featuring a collection of poems by Emily Dickinson—all using eclipses or sudden disappearance of light as motif (after a literary study of E. Dickinson’s work by Cécile Roudeau, 2010).
The poems are read (very badly) by A.I. voice generators, showing no sign of consciously reading poetry. The resulting audio is then incarnated by various actors, silhouetted as is standard for anonymous witnesses accounts in broadcast.
The work plays at interlacing techniques of realisation with conceptual ideas of occlusions and alignments—as in the actual natural phenomena of eclipses—and the disappearance of the forms or elements they foretell.

HD Video with stereo sound, ca. 12mins, 2025.
