The Pannacottas

Site-specific video intervention Ruskin School of Art.
Duration 7’30” approx.
2019.

The work shows pannacottas filmed against a white background, and whose shapes are slowly revealed as
a coulis is poured on them. As their own architectural contours and scale are being defined, thanks the red
coulis, the pannacottas become more recognisable and the projection more billboard-like. The video and the coulis pouring start as what is colloquiallyknown as “food porn” at its most lustful and suggestive, sliding –thanks to the deep red of the coulis–towards the blood-splattered gorefest more usually reminiscent of horror films.
